Sky has proven to me that she understands how to keep the reader interested. The storylines are amazing. I do not know the PDA series but it has tweaked my interest enough to look up the author, Milly Taiden.

I have purchased book one in the PDA series as well as book one in her Wounded Soilder/5. ‎An alien scientist invents the Intergalactic Inversion Drive, an engine system that transcends warp drive -- and the U.S.S Enterprise™ will be the first to test it.

I have released all five titles in this series—a second edition of Books I-IV—so newcomers don’t have to have mismatched books on their shelves (how annoying!). So too does The Wounded Sky. I'm certain that each time I reread the book, I will arrive at some new understanding. Diane Duane is more than an author, in my opinion.

She is very much a modern philosopher, and in this work it shows more clearly than any other. There is an entire worldview contained within this book that perhaps speaks to the /5(20). Essentially what I'm saying is that The Wounded Sky doesn't rely on being a Star Trek book to succeed, it doesn't need Kirk, Spock or McCoy or The Enterprise, but for a fan of Star Trek it just makes it sweeter and Duane's effortless characterisation of our favourite characters is the cherry on the proverbial cake.

Strangers: The Reckoner, Book 1 by David A. Robertson Cole Harper – the protagonist of David A. Robertson’s impressive new novel for young adults – hasn’t returned to Wounded Sky First Nation in almost a decade.

“Ivereigh’s first book on Pope Francis, The Great Reformer, was terrific; Wounded Shepherd is even better. Meticulously researched, beautifully written, insightful, and uplifting, this is the book that goes to the heart—in every sense—of the Francis pontificate: his accomplishments, his failures, and why he acts the way he does.”.

The Wounded Sky is a well-loved book, but you have to be open to its particular idiom. It's basically Star Trek interpreted as epic myth, with a rather idealized take on the characters and their world.
